What did you think was well worth the money and what was a waste of time?

Best: Carbon fiber bars. So much kinder to my wrists with my hack riding.
Worst: Light tire setup. Either they were rock hard or my rims were getting pounded like a passed out college chick.

    Best- carbon bars for sure
Worst- Alligator Cirrus Ti-Nitride disc rotor (might as well been a teflon rotor)

Single wheel design to trialtech derailleur style tensioner. metal backed pads. For weight saving vs money spent I'd say echo bb bolts and magnesium pedals. I'm a tad upset about my trialtech forks and the steer tube length but that has more to do with poor planning and the wierd set up requirements of the hex. The fork is fine. It's so stiff it hurts!

Worst upgrade: Rockman single wall rear rim. It was always going out of true and I was adding dents with each gap. And the braking surface was super shallow so it was a pain to set pads up.

Carbon fiber alone is suppose to be very flexible...
But when combined with other materials such as plastic resins, it can be extremely rigid. More rigid than aluminum (handlebars)...? I don't know. Maybe it is, in which case possibly the "feel" of CF bars is better, more responsive...?

    Just throwing out a guess...

    Best: grinding my rear rim.
Worst: Trial Tech wheel set. Broke the rear axle, destroyed the cones and races, and broke the head off one of the bolts when tightening it down in the drop out.

Best: Coust pads, sixth year riding with cousts now. Tried lots of other pads and none can be compared.
Worst: Monty aluminum, I reckon that goes for everything Monty makes? (I do like the bikes, but the quality is horrible)

Best: TNN pads (any) - just gave me so much more confidence in my rear brake.. better than anything I'd ever used before.
Close 2nd: Echo SL freewheel. Surprised no-one has mentioned that yet!

Worst: Echo SL fork (on a previous bike)

    best: good brake cables
    worst: hs33

the lever on my red tomacs snapped off after maybe 6 months, just from my finger pulling on it. :(

some other really good upgrades: tryall tires, hope/echo wheel, and using corn syrup instead of tar all greatly improved my riding.

Best: Monty freewheel. That thing was great. Cheap as fuck, never maintained it, never skipped, ran for years, still going on its second owner.

Worst: Monty cranks. Such flexy pieces of shit that I replaced them immediately.
