I couldn't ride my Trials bike last night... so I rode my 42 lb Bullit instead. I hooked up with a few people of this forum, and I was doing a few moves on a big hit bike. So, how many of you try to translate what you found into a trail bike? I find myself trying to clean uphill / hard sections during a long trail ride. I guess I'm going for the 'all mountain' mentality, making sure I can mix it up with trials type moves.

BTW, 42 lbs is hard to Fecking throw!

Sure. There's trails around here with big ups, big drops and 3-4 foot logs across the trail.

course... there's usually a wuss-out detour around the fun stuff, but that's not the point....

I learned most of my rolling trials moves riding mountain bikes. Jap slaps are for going over bigass logs. Rear wheel drops a technique for landing on flats without destroying yourself, where there isn't much room for a big rolling landing. It's all mountain bike stuff that you find in the woods .... if you're willing to ride it.

Between the two disciplines, I learned most from trials .In that I get absolutely no gratification from free riding Dh or any other shit. It's too fucking easy .And If I have to ride another shuttle to the top with some dickwad rockers playing Godschmack I'm gonna kill one of those pillowbike-motherfuckers.GAY.

I'm not bitter because DH and FR are so popular.I don't wan't trials to be
the flavor of the weak.People think it's soo cool, maybe even difficult.
Whats annoying is that any of our sport riders could race DH in a sport equivilant class and do VERY well.If they tried our sport class they would be fucked.SHEEP....................BAHHHH

Ride DH on a rigid bike and school your pillowbike companions.

    I love that term... pillowbikes.

Suspension ain't gonna save you if you case a jump at 45 mph.

suspension saved me on a "this is a really bad idea- 13/flat/13/flat landing is too damn big" stair gap back when i was into that shit.

i ride a squishy bike? but i also ride trials? does that make me a part time pillow bitter? i thought riding bikes was supposed to be fun- i have fun riding a big squishy bike at the resorts in the summer. :wuteva:

doing fr shiz with suspension takes skill. doing it with a ht takes even more skill. both require balls, once you grow some, you'l lbe be good at FR.
trials don't work this way. trials all about technique

I used to be good at going fast down things when I rode mountain bikes. 3 years of exclusively riding a trials bike, and I go about 1/4th the speed that I used to go on my once a year cross country rides.
