I've ony run them on MTB's but the SD-7's are excellent and priced well. Older XTRs were awesome, but I tend to avoid parallel push, it gets gunked up over time

hands down: Pauls lever with Pauls motolite. You will never be curious after that combo.

I'm pretty noob with trials, but an expert with a grinder. I'd imagine the good guys grind every other ride. As long as you use a thin cut off wheel and a light touch, you won't remove much material. I've only ground mine once, but I'm not good enough to have needed it, I just wanted to feel the difference. I'm gonna wait and try and save my pads. Until I feel they need ground.

Give your grinder full rpm, then let off the juice and lightly grind until the disc stops. Then goose the grinder agin and repeat. Don't go at it with the grinder at full rpm and full juice until you get used to it.

yes tar is great, but if it gets wet your brakes will not work at all.

i'll say pretty much every normal modern vbrake is good, if you have it set up well, with good pads.

but avid ultimate + xtr housing and lever + 74kingz booster + great pads + grind = never gonna fail.

I've just set my bike up with FR-5 lever, Nokon housing, Ultimate arms, Salsa aluminum booster, and TNN LGV pads. It feels okay. I don't know how much difference levers make?

Avid ultimate levers and Brooklyn machine Works Snot Rockets .. these breaks are so strong they will rip your studs off if you do not use a booster
